Welcome to the Ingomar Garden Club.  

The Ingomar Garden Club is a member of District IX of the Garden Clubs Federation of Pennsylvania (GCFP), which is affiliated with National Garden Clubs, Inc. This year, we are celebrating our 80th year. Our club has been active in promoting gardening and horticultural education while making a positive contribution to our local community.

Gardening in Our Community

Our members care for three primary garden projects: David Councill Park, Passavant Hospital planters and flagpole entrance, and the gardens at Northland Public Library. These projects give our members an opportunity to work together, share ideas, develop their gardening skills, and make our community more beautiful for everyone to enjoy.

Service to Others

Service is an important part of who we are. Throughout the year, our members participate in horticultural therapy programs at local retirement centers, sharing the enjoyment and benefits of gardening with others.

We also collect donations throughout the year for North Hills Community Outreach, supporting an organization that assists individuals and families in our community.

Our club supports the education of future environmental and horticultural professionals through our $1000 Scholarship Program for graduating high school seniors and freshmen, sophomores, and junior in college. Students pursuing degrees in environmental studies, forestry, horticulture, and related fields.

We also support Beechwood Farms Nature Reserve, part of the National Audubon Society, helping promote appreciation and preservation of our natural environment.

Learning and Exploring

We believe there is always something new to learn about gardening. Our monthly meetings provide an opportunity to conduct the business of the club while enjoying an informative speaker on a wide variety of gardening and horticultural topics.

We also organize monthly field trips to interesting gardens, nurseries, nature centers, and other destinations. Many of these trips are educational and guided, providing an opportunity to learn, explore, and enjoy time together.

Throughout the year, we gather for special occasions, including our annual picnic and holiday party. We participate in the District IX Annual Members Day Out and encourage members to attend the Pennsylvania State Garden Club Convention.

Staying Connected

Our members receive the Keystone Gardener, the publication of the Garden Club Federation of Pennsylvania. In addition, the Ingomar Garden Club publishes The Flower Press, our monthly educational newsletter, keeping members informed about upcoming activities, programs, gardening information, and club news.

The Ingomar Garden Club is much more than a gardening organization. It is a place to learn, contribute, explore, make new friends, and share a common love of the natural world.

We have many dynamic, talented, and incredible members who bring different interests and experiences to our club. Whether you are an experienced gardener or simply someone who enjoys

flowers, gardens, nature, and the outdoors, we hope you will consider becoming part of IGC.

Most importantly, we hope you will not only join the Ingomar Garden Club but become an active member. There are many opportunities to participate at whatever level is comfortable for you.

Ingomar Garden Club enriches the community in so many ways. 

Ingomar Garden Club was established, in 1946, as a philanthropic organization dedicated to the art of gardening and flower design, the protection of the environment and its plants and wildlife, the conservation of our natural resources, and civic improvement. We are committed to establishing roots in this community and watching them grow.  Ingomar Pennsylvania is located 12 miles north of Pittsburgh.  The club was federated in 1954.

Ingomar Garden Club is a member of
