DAVID E. COUNCILL MEMORIAL PARK

David E. Councill was the first Ingomar soldier killed in World War II.  In 1954, the Bell family donated 1.3 acres of land to the Town of McCandless for a park in his memory.  The Park is at West Ingomar and Ingomar Heights Road.  This will be the 69th year that Ingomar Garden Club members have planted and maintained this area.  A sundial (purchased by the club) is the focal area for seasonal plants.  This 2023, a tall, solar-lighted Flag Pole was erected to honor veteran heroes.  The park chairperson supervises club members on workdays throughout the year.
